Margaret's Café is a popular hometown establishment that has been serving the community for almost 70 years. Located at 805 N. Fifth St. in Toronto, the restaurant and full-service bar offer a wide variety of menu items and daily/seasonal specials, including its most popular entrees - beer battered cod chunks and Jackfish sandwiches. Breakfast is also served daily until 2 p.m.
Owner Eric Barnes, who took over the business in April of 2017, attributes Margaret's success to its' customers' loyalty and the commitment of its' long-time employees, who received the Best Service Award in both 2017 and 2018 by voters in the Herald-Star's Reader's Choice Awards.
Consisting of 26 booths and tables, the dining room is separated from the bar area and allows for a family-friendly environment for customers of all ages, including families with young children, class reunion gatherings or various group luncheons.
Margaret's is looking forward to serving its loyal customers for many more years to come. Barnes future goals include maintaining quality customer service with its current staff and remodeling upgrades for future growth, including an addition to the kitchen area.
Barnes said he truly appreciates the patronage of all of its' customers and welcomes any feedback to continue the business's growth.
